As someone who has to stick to a very tight budget, makeup is honestly the last thing I can justify spending a lot of money on. I do a lot of my shopping at Target and Walmart, so, naturally, I try to find a good product there when I can.
I personally like a silky, smooth finish on my face — I don’t particularly like the matte look. I like for my foundation to not look heavy. Before I transitioned to a new foundation I was using the Maybelline® Fit Me! Matte and Poreless Foundation. If you like a smooth, matte finish, this is a great product. It does a good job of covering any zits/large pores on my face, but I hope to find a new foundation that gives more of a natural finish.
The best drug store product I have found for a powder has been the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. I LOVE this product and how light it feels after I put it on. It really gives my makeup a smooth finish and keeps the shine in check.
I currently use the Covergirl® Classic Color Blush, and am not super impressed. It’s $5.29, so it’s a good price for me and lasts a very long time. I would like to start using a different blush, maybe a cream blush? I’ll be updating y’all on what I find!
Right now I’ve been using the Ulta Beauty Essentials Palette. I love the colors, the eye shadow sticks to my eyelids, and the powder doesn’t fall on my cheeks. I haven’t been able to find the exact palette I have, but the Ulta beauty brand has a lot of options I’ll link it here!
I love using the e.l.f. eyeliner pen. This eyeliner has last a very long time (I think at least a year?), and it glides on easily. This is only $2.00, and it has been worth every penny.
I love getting to try new mascaras, and the L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise is a winner for me. $8.99 at Target is such a steal, and the product has lasted for several months.
In the past I’ve used the Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray, and I’ve used the e.l.f. Makeup Mist & Set. Honestly they both do the job, and I’ve stuck with e.l.f. because it’s a more frugal option.
I hope these products are helpful for y’all. I want to keep this as frugal as possible, and I know there are many other women who feel the same way! There are tons of sweet bloggers who are able to invest in products that are more high end (and I totally understand the reason for that), but sometimes that just isn’t in our means and we want to find more affordable alternatives 🙂 Comment below any affordable products that you love using and I’ll be sure to try them out!
